The Tigers added five players to their 40 man roster today. These players are now protected from the Rule 5 draft and will stay with the organization. Who knows, they may have just held onto the next Johan Santana.
A few members of the Tigers organization are putting up some pretty impressive numbers as they get in some extra work in the Arizona Fall League. Among the highlights are Casey Fien, Zach Simons, Jeff Larish, and Casper Wells.
When the Tigers were finally able to find a taker for the human gas can (Jason Grilli) they got a Minor League pitcher from the Rockies in return. Zach Simons, fresh off an appearance in the Arizona Fall League, was great in Lakeland in 2008.
